Year 7 Chill-Out Club

If you’re in year 7 and you haven’t yet sampled the Chill-Out Club, why not give it a try? It’s held in the Intervention Room on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday lunch times and is organised by Ms Akram and Ms Kilcoyne. You can even bring your packed lunch in with you (but hot food must be eaten in the canteen).

Because this Club is for year 7’s only, it’s a great place to go if you’re not that confident about mixing with older students.

Sound good? Then come and join us.

 See you there.

Film Club – A message from Ms Milroy

Thursday 14th January marks the start of Film Club. I am the Learning Resource Centre Manager at The City School and am really excited about the prospect  of running FILMCLUB as an after school activity in 2010.

The idea of FILMCLUB is not for The City School pupils to just watch the films their peers have chosen, but to discuss them afterwards from different perspectives, with the option of writing an online review on the Film Club website at www.filmclub.org

The films will be shown in the Learning Resource Centre every other Thursday starting at 3.15pm and finishing at approximately 5pm (this finish time will obviously be dependent on the running time of the film)

The first film we will show is Step Up which is rated a PG, and we intend to screen Step Up 2 on 28th January

Do please have a look at the website, which is very similar to the LOVEFILM site, and if there is a seminal film that you think we should be screening please email me at mmilroy@city.sheffield.sch.uk
