Aims

·         The development of trade, colonisation and the British Empire

·         The shaping of the identity of Britain –movement, settlement, cultural diversity.

·         From slavery to civil rights-the struggle for freedom.

·         Power to the people-the development of political power in Britain from the Middle Ages to the twentieth century

MP working with BBC along with other history teachers, looking at how BBC  programme clips can be used to aid and enhance learning

 

 

Keystage 4

 

Aims

 

·         To engage students in the process of historical enquiry

·         Develop students ’knowledge and coherent understanding of selected periods, societies and aspects of the past.

·         Develop students’ awareness of how the past has been represented

·         Develop students’ ability to ask relevant questions about the past.

·         To enable students to organise and communicate the ideas.

Exciting opportunities which may arise

 

A two day residential study trip to London in Y11 which involves visiting; the Science Museum, Imperial War Museum, the first operating theatre and a revision conference.
