Design & Technology

Aims

The Design and Technology department aims to provide a stimulating, interactive environment where students feel comfortable and engaged. We provide opportunities for students to develop their individual, creative thinking skills and realize their designs through design and making activities.

Keystage 3

Key stage three, Design and Technology is designed to give students the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and skills to designing and making products for themselves, others and to meet specific client needs.
The key stage is divided into nine sections and over the three years, allowing students to access Food technology, Graphics, Electronics and Product design workshops.

Technology gives students the opportunity to experience industrial approaches to design using  CAD/CAM equipment.
The departmental assessment procedure ensures students are continually aware of their progress: areas of expertise and those areas that need development. Using regular, assessment feedback, endless enthusiasm and encouragement we are confident that all our Key stage three students will achieve success.
